Next-Generation Features:
A totally new 3D engine creates the world of The Sims 2, much more real and dynamic. The Sims 2 will also feature a totally new feature: Build-A-Sim. This allows you to customize the facial features of your Sim quickly with a level of detail never seen before. In The Sims 2, players are able to build homes and be able to decorate and customize your Sims' homes with furniture, lamps and objects entirely new.

Minimum system requirements:
- If you have a video card with T & L with at least 32 MB of video memory (such as an nVidia GeForce 2 or higher or ATI Radeon 7000 or higher) then you need at least:
P3 600 MHz processor
256 MB RAM with Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 1998 or Windows 2000
- If your video card does not have T & L (as a TNT2 or Intel Integrated for example) then you need at least:
1.5 GHz processor 256 MB RAM with Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 1998 or Windows 2000
- Supported video cards (the more video memory the better): ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Nvidia Geforce 4 or FX series cards
